Work at Prism Wellness at Prism Wellness in Cary, North Carolina

Work at Prism Wellness

We are a specialty mental health practice in Cary, twelve clinicians strong, built around trauma-informed work since 2020. We are not hiring today, but this is what the job is and what it comes with, so you know whether to keep an eye out.

Not currently hiring W2, hybrid Cary, NC

We are not currently hiring, and we are not accepting student interns through Spring 2027. If you would like us to keep your CV on file for when that changes, send it to Lesley@PrismWellnessNC.com.

The role we hire for

Psychotherapist, W2 employed rather than contracted. Full time status is a minimum of twenty clinical hours per week. The position is hybrid with at least two days in our Cary office, which is a bright, spacious space.

What we look for

Licensure

Licensed to practice psychotherapy in North Carolina as an LCSW, LMFT, LCMHC or equivalent. Provisionally licensed clinicians are welcome to apply with at least six months of experience and completed trauma-informed training.

Experience

Two or more years post-graduate, with specialized training. Things like Internal Family Systems, EMDR, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, exposure and response prevention, prolonged exposure, NARM, Brainspotting or crisis intervention.

Trauma training, specifically

Most of what walks through our door has trauma somewhere in it. Specialized trauma training is not a nice extra here, it is the baseline.

Addiction experience is a strong plus

An LCAS, or substantial experience in addiction work, is strongly desired and shapes how we round out the team.

Able to work alone and together

You will carry your own caseload with real autonomy, and you will also sit in group consultation and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. Both matter.

People who invest in themselves

We look for clinicians who value their own personal and professional growth, because that is what keeps this work sustainable over a career.

How the practice actually runs

You build your own schedule

The only mandatory time is the weekly staff consultation, currently Tuesdays 1:00 to 2:30. The rest of the week is yours to shape around how you work and live.

You choose your caseload

No client is ever put on your caseload. If a referral is not a good fit for your training or your capacity, it goes to someone it does fit.

Admin is not your job

Insurance credentialing and all billing are handled by our billing specialist, and our support team fields the calls. You are not chasing copays between sessions.

Room to run a group

Clinicians who want to facilitate a group can. We have a dedicated group room with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Full time benefits

Available to clinicians meeting twenty or more clinical hours per week.

Time off

Two weeks paid time off, plus comprehensive short term disability coverage.

Health cover

Option to add health insurance on a Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plan with the employer paying 50 percent, plus BCBS dental and vision.

Retirement

A 3 percent IRA match toward retirement savings.

Monthly bonus

An $800 monthly bonus for averaging 22 clinical hours per week.

Development

Select trainings with CEUs, and team consultation is paid time rather than something you fit in around the edges.

Our philosophy

Since its inception in 2020, Prism Wellness has kept a commitment to ethical, intentional growth. We have become a collective of trauma-informed therapists focused on high quality clinical care, alongside an administrative team deeply attuned to how much mental health matters in every client interaction.

At the core of it is authenticity. As an owner, Lesley values herself as a human first and extends the same to everyone who works here. We value people above roles or titles and aim for a workplace grounded in mutual respect, flexibility and understanding. Adaptability, openness to change and positive engagement with colleagues are essential to the culture, not decorative.

We prioritize the wellbeing of our team and build real connection into how we work, whether that is team meetings, stepping into a colleague's office to debrief a hard or wonderful session, or partnering with other providers around Cary. A practice is only as strong as its people.

We look for people who value collaboration, keep learning, and have done enough of their own introspective work to know their strengths and their shadows. If that sounds like you, get in touch and we will see whether we are a fit for each other.

The day to day

Conducting psychotherapy sessions, applying evidence-based trauma treatment alongside holistic approaches, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team so clients get coherent care, keeping accurate and confidential records on time, and taking part in weekly team consultation.
